Lebasque, Henri Biography
(1865-1937)
Henri Lebasque (25 Sept 1865 – 7 Aug 1937) was a Post-Impressionist painter who bridged Impressionism and Favism. He was a friend of the Impressionists Camille Pissarro and Auguste Renoir, as well as Édouard Vuillard and Pierre Bonnard, the founders of Les Nabis. He was known as the ‘painter of joy and light’ and specialized in landscapes and interiors of the French Rivera.
